The 988 Call Center is a crisis answering service that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.

This call center is connected to the BH Link The states walk-in behavioral health crisis center that serves Rhode Islanders statewide. As such, 988 Crisis Counselors can assist service recipients in facilitating entry to BH Link, to be seen in person by an experienced clinical team that provides comprehensive assessment and referral services. The 988 Crisis Call Center also coordinates with local mobile crisis response teams, dispatching available mobile crisis clinicians to the community in order to meet people where they are. The services provided emphasize client-centered care in the least restrictive possible settings.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Working on site at the 988 Call Center in East Providence.
  • Answering calls, chats, and texts coming into the 988 Crisis Call Center, both through the 988 Lifeline and the 414-LINK line.
  • Engaging callers with empathy and professionalism to effectively establish clinical rapport in a brief period.
  • Routinely assessing for risk of suicidality (and other risks to safety) with callers experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.
  • Identifying best outcomes, including the coordination of wellness checks and/or the dispatch of mobile crisis response teams.
  • Providing callers with resource and referral options as applicable.
  • Completing all required documentation and data collection in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinating directly with members of the BH Link clinical team as appropriate.
  • Coordinating with 911 dispatch and local municipalities as appropriate.
  • Documenting incident reports as necessary notifying call center supervisors in the case of any critical incident.
  • Attending required staff meetings and trainings.

Desired Skills:

  • The ability to answer crisis calls, chats, and texts with empathy and composure.
  • The capability of multitasking and transitioning between periods of low and high call/chat/text volume.
  • Utilize supervision and take feedback in order to continually grow and improve as a crisis counselor.
  • Strong communication skills that will lead to effective coordination of care both within and outside of the 988 Call Center.
  • The ability to effectively navigate digital platforms (the 988-answering platform, resource databases, electronic health records, etc.).
  • Multilingual staff are highly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school equivalency required.
  • 1-3 Years in the human services industry preferred.
  • Fluency in multiple languages preferred.

The 988 Crisis Call Center at BH Link is hiring a masters-level supervisor and educator that is looking to make a positive impact on the lives of Rhode Island community members! The 988 Call Center is a crisis answering service that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.

The role of the 988 Internship Coordinator will be to support interns of the program in their professional development and field objectives. The Internship Coordinator will also develop and support the overall success and development of the 988 internship program itself.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work on site at the 988 Call Center in East Providence.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the 988 internship program at BH Link, alongside the 988 Call Center Manager.
  • Serve as the immediate field supervisor and point of contact for 988 call center interns and their academic liaisons.
  • Coordinate with licensed clinical staff/administrators as necessary, for the purpose of fulfilling requirements of program interns and their corresponding learning contracts.
  • Collaborate with the 988 quality improvement team and support the growth and progress of interns and counselors.
  • Identify and support recruitment opportunities for 988 interns.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the programs 988 training curriculum.
  • Provide support in the evaluation of Rhode Islands 988 internship program.
  • Support 988 counseling processes alongside program-level leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum LMHC or LCSW required.

988 Quality Improvement Assistant (Full Time)

The 988 Call Center is a crisis call center that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises. This call center is connected to the BH Link The states walk-in behavioral health crisis center that serves Rhode Islanders statewide. The services provided through the call center and walk-in center emphasize client-centered care in the least restrictive possible settings.

The 988 Quality Improvement Assistant will be responsible for call center quality improvement efforts. Individual will review contact documentation, identify trends in data collected, and recommend adjustments for adherence to funder and organization QA standards. The 988 Quality Improvement Assistant will work onsite at BH Link, 36hrs a week. This position will be reporting to 988 Call Center Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble data and prepare routine reports for distribution to relevant departments and funders/stakeholders.
  • Monitor usage and advise on internal reporting tools for tracking of relevant contact details and performance metrics.
  • Conduct regular review of contact logs and communicate findings to program supervisory staff to collaboratively ensure adherence to program standards of documentation and quality performance.
  • Assist investigation of complaints/grievances in collaboration with program manager and data team.
  • Review call recordings to identify successes and areas for improvement in crisis call center interventions.
  • Assist program leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of PQI process and procedure.
  • Provide other administrative support to the BH Links 988 call center as needed.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Forms, Power Automate, and Power BI.

Education/Licensing Requirements:

ASU Medical On-Call Provider (Remote)  (Full Time)
Location: Providence,RI

 Medical On-Call Provider (Remote)

Community Care Alliance is seeking a medical provider for on-call, remote-only support to its Acute Stabilization Unit (ASU). The ASU is a short-term, inpatient behavioral health crisis program. 

 The on-call provider will enter a rotation for a week at a time, and, when on call, will be responsible for:

  • Completing telehealth history and physical examinations for clients beginning a monitored detoxification (approximately 1-2/day; flexible scheduling)
  • Reviewing and approving medication orders [medical meds only] by phone or email (approximately 1-3 clients/day; flexible scheduling)
  • Responding within one (1) hour to phone calls from program RNs seeking medical consultation and support 
  • Coordinating or consulting with outside medical professionals when necessary 
  • Documenting interventions and consultation in the electronic health record as indicated

The provider will be on-call to respond to these issues 24 hours/day for their assigned weeks. However, on average, time spent actively working on the above functions does not exceed 2-4 hours per day.  These functions are completed with support and input from the interdisciplinary treatment team, which includes both on-site and on-call psychiatry, nursing, and counseling. 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Appreciate the co-occurring nature of medical, psychiatric, and substance use-related health conditions
  • Operate from an anti-oppression lens in line with agency values

Our Acute Stabilization Unit (ASU) in Providence, RI, is seeking a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (PCNS) to perform crisis evaluations, prescribe psychotropic medications, and facilitate dispositions to higher levels of care when needed. The ASU is a peaceful place to take the steps needed for recovery. It is our goal to ensure client stability, provide seamless transfer to ongoing outpatient levels of care and to reduce unnecessary use of hospital-based services. The PCNS participates in treatment planning meetings with team members and coordinates care with treatment. The PCNS will work with a collaborating staff psychiatrist within the agency.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the mental health and substance abuse field as well as possess the ability to participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

Education/Licensing: RI License as an advanced practice registered nurse with psych/mental health specialty. Current DEA license.

Position Summary:

 

To assist the Director of Supported Housing in identifying clients in need of housing and improving their access to safe affordable housing. To provide and/or coordinate services for clients in accordance with the utilization of the 12 core functions of substance abuse professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Community Care Alliance is looking for a full-time Master's level clinician to work in a new cutting-edge program responding to crisis in the surrounding community. This type of community-based crisis triage is the new frontier of responding to mental health and substance use crises.

This rapid response team would be an elite team of individuals working collaboratively with the intent to manage a crisis in the community, provide rapid resources for stabilization and to develop community connections with the intent to decrease the need for an emergency room intervention and an inpatient admission.

Clinicians will have the opportunity to work with an innovative team including, the program director, law enforcement and first responders, case managers, peer specialists and community mental health workers.

Education /Licensing requirements/ Skills: 

An ideal candidate:

  • Possesses MA with experience in behavioral health. We will train for the Qualified Mental Health Professional license (needed to complete the emergency certifications).
  • Has excellent Crisis Intervention skills.
  • Is able to perform emergency certifications when necessary.
  • Has experience of at least 1 year in the community mental health, Crisis Stabilization Unit, or an inpatient psychiatric setting.
  • Is someone who can honor a trauma-informed, client-centered care perspective and is accepting of diversity of perspectives and background.
  • Is able to diagnosis using the DSM 5 criteria.
  • Has a valid driver's license.

Job Schedule:  
This is a 24/7 program. As such, shifts will be offered for multiple days and times. Certain shifts will be based in our Woonsocket location, with mobile outreach: rate of pay highly competitive and is commensurate to skills and experience.

Overnight shifts are on-call: these will be paid at a flat hourly rate of $8/hour for time spent remote, plus a fee of $75-100 per community-based assessment based on credentials.    

Per Diem applicants should be available for at least 2 shifts per month.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Conducts the Healthy Families America family assessment with families to determine eligibility for home visitation services. Makes referrals to appropriate community-based services and coaches families related to parent-child relationship building. Initiates and maintains contact with families through home visitation, guides family development through Growing Great Kids curriculum and assists families with linkages to community resources. Functions as a team member to promote program growth and assist program leadership with marketing home visitation.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Conducts the Healthy Families America assessment tool to determine eligibility for home visitation and other available services.
  • Develops, monitors and updates family plans on a regular basis using family goals and priorities. Completes required documentation including database entry according to Agency standards and Department of Healthguidelines.
  • Assists parents in strengthening their parent child relationship through information, coaching and modeling. Identifies and guides referrals to other services in the community and as identified with the family.
  • Functions as a team member in program development. Attends and participates in team meetings, program events and outreach as directed by supervisor.
  • Actively participating in supervision that is regular, reflective and collaborative in nature. As appropriate, takes the initiative to seek supervisory support. Incorporates constructive direction from supervisor to improve job performance.
  • Maintains agency and funding source client privacy and program confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in required training and home visitation network meetings.
  • Collaborate with community partners as needed to achieve family and program goals.
  • Demonstrate cooperative, flexible and positive human relations,treating consumers and colleagues with dignity and respect.
  • Maintains family census in accordance with HFA guidelines - prorated for part-time staff as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned and requested by the Clinical Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of direct service experience with families with young children.
  • Must have the ability to provide services in the homes of various clients.
  • Must have own reliable transportation.
  • Will provide role-modeling and education on various topics related to family-child relationships and development.
  • Will demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in social services, Child Development, Education or related field with 1-3 years direct service experience with families with young children OR

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Empathetic, nonjudgmental, and patient attitude towards parents from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

Community Care Alliance is looking for a Clinical Supervisor to assist with Family Care Community Partnership (FCCP). Clinical Supervisor / Wraparound Coach is to oversee day-to-day operations regarding the service, personnel, data/reporting and accreditation components of the Family Care Community Partnership.

This position provides leadership in implementing high standards of family centered, strengths-based practice and is consistent with the larger agency mission of strengthening vulnerable families and our community.

Clinical Supervisor provides direct, weekly supervision to direct service staff. This includes:

  • Responsibility for oversight of Care Coordination & services provided to families/clients.
  • Coaching and oversight of implementation of Wraparound practice and philosophy.
  • General performance, documentation, and adherence to agency and program standards and policies.
  • Visits all open client homes for diagnostic assessment.

Clinical Supervisor provides clinical consultation, crisis intervention, and general support to all staff and clientele. Clinical assessments and services are also be provided, as required by DCYF contractual obligations.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • A Master's Degree and Independent Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts are required,
  • Experience in clinical practice and provision of supervision.

  • Openness to ongoing supervision, training, and personal and professional development.
  • Consistent enhancement of supervisory skills is required via supervisory training within and outside of CCA.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works directly with families and young children (0-3) within natural environments in support of overall mental health and positive relationships, and contributes to team by providing insights into family systems and parenting. Plans and implements the delivery of Early Intervention services to eligible children and their families from intake through transition according to RI Operational Standards and Individual Family Service Plans. Services are provided in collaboration with families and other team members in a coaching model that reflect the priorities of the family in a manner that is developmentally appropriate. Coaching incorporates goals and strategies within daily home routines.  Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team in promoting excellence in the field and adhering to agency professional standards of care in order to continuously improve the quality-of service delivery.

The certified peer specialist will work with a team consisting of a clinician, RN, case manager and community mental health worker and assist individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis. This team responds to crises in the community and assists individuals with immediate access to an assessment and services. The role of the Peer Specialist is to interact with individuals seen and provide a bridge between providers and adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use issues.

The certified peer specialist should be an individual who has lived experience with substance abuse, a behavioral disorder or a mental health disorder who has made progress in their own recovery and has completed specialized training qualifying them to help others in their recovery. This individual should be comfortable honoring multiple pathways to recovery. The Peer Specialist will work as part of a team when providing crisis level of care. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work and communicate effectively and serve as a role model for peers, providing them with coping skills and connecting them to resources in the community. The ideal candidate will be readily able to engage in active supervision and be practice positive and healthy self-care.

Flexible schedule, days, may include evenings and some weekend coverage. 

Education/Skills: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Have successfully completed and passed a co- occurring Peer Specialist Training program endorsed by BHDDH and possess or be eligible for the IC/RC state certification.

"We are seeking a compassionately dynamic Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team! Our drop-in center is a safe, understanding, and compassionate place for the community we serve, and we are seeking someone that is a team player as well as a self-starter. POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide peer support to our homeless, housing unstable, substance use, and recovery clients in our Safe Haven drop-in center. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming space in the drop-in center. Evaluate and assist with clients needs and barriers. Ensure program adherence to all relevant licensing, funding, and accreditation standards. Participate in ongoing training and participation in any agency-wide efforts. Preference to bi-lingual/multi-lingual individuals. Other responsibilities are as follows:

  • Greet clients with unconditional positive regard and develop a trusting working alliance.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide receptionist and registration specialist duties and perform clerical duties as assigned.   • Collect insurance and demographic information for clients.
  • Verify insurance, demographics, and any other changes for every client encounter and update the electronic health record.
  • Reminder calls for prescribers and clinicians.
  • Support clinical staff with outreach calls, outreach letters, and notifying clinical staff on all updates.
  • Making sure all email work tasks have been completed and replied to.
  • Maintain accuracy in collecting copayments at time of service from clients/ sending up manual payment logs when full.

  • Answer phones and direct the calls to the proper extension, distribute messages via phone or email.

  • Lock and unlock main doors at appropriate times/ maintain clean waiting room.
  • Registration of clients and scheduling appointments using appropriate agency procedures and service codes.
  • Help with conducting fire drills and lock down drills.
  • Float between buildings as needed to cover receptionists for lunch, planned and/or unplanned absences.
  • Clerical work, such as copying, scanning, filing, data entry, organizing office files, and keeping track of supplies.
  • Assist with toxicology labs; Update client toxicology list from request of clinical staff, calling to schedule and entering memos for all toxicology client in the appropriate time frame when due, using correct diagnosis codes to prefill requisition, prepping and sealing toxicology labs to put in the pick-up location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a member of our team, you will assist in the delivery of psychiatric, rehabilitation, and supportive services to adults living in a group home setting. Our program is designed to help residents reach their goals for living, learning and working in the community as independently as possible. Duties will include: assessing and evaluating clients, providing support services, crisis intervention, medication monitoring and education as needed. POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide peer support to our homeless, housing unstable, substance use, and recovery clients primarily in the community, as well as in our Safe Haven drop-in center.Evaluate and assist with clients' needs and barriers. Ensure program adherence to all relevant licensing, funding, and accreditation standards. Participate in ongoing training and participation in any agency-wide efforts. Preference to bi-lingual/multi-lingual individuals. Other responsibilities are as follows:

  • Greet clients with unconditional positive regard and develop a trusting working alliance.
  • Provide Harm Reduction supplies and education.
  • Assist clients to access a wide array of resources, including but not limited to:
    • Food, clothing, personal hygiene products, survival items.
    • Behavioral health resources.

Services are provided primarily via the community and Safe Haven drop-in center. Full-time position Monday-Friday 8:30-5 pm with some flexibility, with some flexibility needed for weeknights and weekend hours. A valid Driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Must be flexible and able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
