The 988 Call Center is a crisis answering service that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.

This call center is connected to the BH Link – The state’s walk-in behavioral health crisis center that serves Rhode Islanders statewide. As such, 988 Crisis Counselors can assist service recipients in facilitating entry to BH Link, to be seen in person by an experienced clinical team that provides comprehensive assessment and referral services. The 988 Crisis Call Center also coordinates with local mobile crisis response teams, dispatching available mobile crisis clinicians to the community in order to meet people where they are. The services provided emphasize client-centered care in the least restrictive possible settings.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Working on site at the 988 Call Center in East Providence.
  • Answering calls, chats, and texts coming into the 988 Crisis Call Center, both through the 988 Lifeline and the 414-LINK line.
  • Engaging callers with empathy and professionalism to effectively establish clinical rapport in a brief period.
  • Routinely assessing for risk of suicidality (and other risks to safety) with callers experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.
  • Identifying best outcomes, including the coordination of wellness checks and/or the dispatch of mobile crisis response teams.
  • Providing callers with resource and referral options as applicable.
  • Completing all required documentation and data collection in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinating directly with members of the BH Link clinical team as appropriate.
  • Coordinating with 911 dispatch and local municipalities as appropriate.
  • Documenting incident reports as necessary – notifying call center supervisors in the case of any critical incident.

988 Quality Improvement Assistant  (Full Time)
Location: East Providence, RI

The 988 Call Center is a crisis call center that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises. This call center is connected to the BH Link The states walk-in behavioral health crisis center that serves Rhode Islanders statewide. The services provided through the call center and walk-in center emphasize client-centered care in the least restrictive possible settings.

The 988 Quality Improvement Assistant will be responsible for call center quality improvement efforts. Individual will review contact documentation, identify trends in data collected, and recommend adjustments for adherence to funder and organization QA standards. The 988 Quality Improvement Assistant will work onsite at BH Link, 36hrs a week. This position will be reporting to 988 Call Center Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble data and prepare routine reports for distribution to relevant departments and funders/stakeholders.
  • Monitor usage and advise on internal reporting tools for tracking of relevant contact details and performance metrics.
  • Conduct regular review of contact logs and communicate findings to program supervisory staff to collaboratively ensure adherence to program standards of documentation and quality performance.
  • Assist investigation of complaints/grievances in collaboration with program manager and data team.
  • Review call recordings to identify successes and areas for improvement in crisis call center interventions.
  • Assist program leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of PQI process and procedure.
  • Provide other administrative support to the BH Links 988 call center as needed.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Forms, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Ability to analyze data sets and clinically focused content.

Community Care Alliance is looking for an energetic and motivated Team Leader for our Assertive Community Treatment(ACT) Team.

ACT team is a multidisciplinary team specializing in crisis stabilization, that works collaboratively with adults experiencing serious mental illness in order to empower them to make choices, attain life goals, build relationships, and take part in their communities.

Our services are provided in the most integrated and independent way possible by focusing on our clients' strengths and values, we provide culturally competent, flexible, coordinated, and accountable person-centered services.

The Team Leader is a Supervisory Role scheduled Mon-Fri (Regular Business Hours).

Responsibilities & Duties:

Clinical Duties:

  • Directs the day-to-day operations of the ACT team. This includes coordinating treatment, rehabilitation, and support services in collaboration with theteamto prevent crisis situations that may lead to psychiatric hospitalizations.
  • Performs crisis intervention, staff supervision and consultation and utilizes safe crisis management techniques during normal business hours.
  • Provides direct clinical services as needed, including: utilize motivational approaches to engage clients into services, perform mental status exams and develop risk management plans, utilizing crisis intervention, verbal de-escalation and counseling techniques.
  • Serves as a client advocate. Establish effective relationships with clients, families, and other community providers and human service providers to ensure quality of care.

Administrative Duties:

  • Coordinates and supervises admissions and facilitates and monitors discharge planning of clients, ensuring maintenance of census targets.
  • Participates in the staff recruitment and selection process and develops and conducts staff orientation and training.
  • Reviews assessments and recovery plans for appropriate clinical content and oversee management of EHR records ensure compliance with various policies and requirements.

Qualification & Skills:

  • Must be Licensed: LICSW/LMHC/LMFT/ LCDP or RN.
  • A solid understanding of program management best practices and the ability to work effectively to meet deadlines and goals required.
  • Supervisory and /or solid community-based preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Must have basic computer skills.

The adult outpatient program is seeking to hire qualified counselors/clinicians to provide individual therapy to adults with mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders. The program works with individuals 18 years and older who are interested in improving their quality of life through engaging in meaningful therapy sessions with caring provides who are able to utilize various evidence-based practices to meet clients where they are. Clinicians/counselors will work with individuals to decrease problematic symptomology, take back control of their life and improve their outlook on the future.

In addition to individual therapy, the counselor/clinician will be responsible for: completing session notes within 48 hours of service, completing treatment plans every 6 months, providing crisis management and referring clients to various community resources that will further help them improve their quality of life.

The ideal candidate has previous experience working/interning in the fields of mental health and/or addiction, is able to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team as well as work autonomously and has a sincere desire to help the people we serve.

Recent graduates looking to work towards licensure will receive weekly individual and group supervision. CCA also offers regular trainings, free of charge, that count towards CEUs.

Education/Licensing:

The BH Link provides an innovative 24/7 alternative to the emergency room for adults around RI who are in need of behavioral health crisis assessment and referral services. The role of the Masters-Level Clinician is to engage clients in clinical assessment and to assist in securing referrals by coordinating care with other local agencies and programs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Available to cover clinical program needs on a regular or on-call basis.
  • Help to assist all clients in navigating their current crisis and the behavioral healthcare system through consultation, assessment, and referral.
  • Conduct mental status exam and client-centered clinical assessment.
  • Determine appropriate diagnoses based on DSM-5.
  • Apply proficiency with ASAM criteria to secure insurance authorizations on behalf of clients served.

BH Link Peer Recovery Specialist  (Full Time)
Location: East Providence, RI

BH Link Peer Recovery Specialist (Full Time)

The BH Link is a 24/7 behavioral health crisis and triage center partnering Community Care Alliance and Horizon Health Partners.  The program is hiring a Peer Specialist to work full-time to provide support and assistance to clients of the BH Link, Crisis Center. They also will provide phone support, and accompany clients to post crisis center appointments when appropriate.  Good communication skills a must. 

 

The Behavioral Health Link will provide Rhode Islander's with immediate assessment and referral services. The program is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team which consists of RN's, Psychiatry, master's level counselors, case managers, peer specialists and phone screeners. The program also operates a 24/7 suicide hotline as well. The mobile crisis unit is a program transit van which is available to crisis center staff to provide community home visits when needed. 

 

We prefer an applicant who has successfully completed and passed a Co-occurring Peer Specialist training program endorsed by BHDDH and possess (or be eligible for) IC/RC state certification (CPRS). We also will accept those who are actively working on their certification.

Care Coordinator  (Full Time)

Care Coordinator (Full Time)

The Care Coordinator is a member of a multi-disciplinary Certified Community Behavioral Health (CCBHC) Team. The CCBHC Team supports clients of Community Care Alliance (CCA) and their teams with necessary care coordination and access to resources as well as triaging clients who are dealing with complex medical and behavioral health and/or substance issues and require a more intensive outpatient, home and/or community-based intervention. A CCBHC team coordinates care across the spectrum of health services, including access to high- quality physical health (both acute and chronic) and behavioral health care, as well as social services, housing, educational systems, and employment opportunities as necessary to facilitate wellness and recovery of the whole person.

Care Coordinators play a critical role on the team by providing health care coordination, community resources and referrals. The Care Coordinators will network and serve as liaison with internal and external community resources concerning social determinants of Health in order to improve and enhance CCBHC integration of care.   • Maintain required client contact as deemed by program/DHS.

  • Utilize computer database systems to maintain appropriate information on clients, per program and agency requirements.
  • Complete all paperwork associated with maintaining current client statistics.
  • Ensure agency standards of care are met and in compliance with funders and others as required.
  • To complete all paperwork required for data generation in a timely fashion as determined by Director.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree or minimum of 2 years related experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated case management skills and experience; emergency intervention methods, family dynamics, health, mental health and substance abuse systems; and knowledge of community resources.
  • May require in the future a case management/community health worker certificate must be willing to obtain certification if required.
  • Bi-lingual highly preferred.

The certified peer specialist should be an individual who has lived experience with substance abuse, a behavioral disorder or a mental health disorder who has made progress in their own recovery and has completed specialized training qualifying them to help others in their recovery. This individual should be comfortable honoring multiple pathways to recovery. The Peer Specialist will work as part of a team when providing crisis level of care. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work and communicate effectively and serve as a role model for peers, providing them with coping skills and connecting them to resources in the community. The ideal candidate will be readily able to engage in active supervision and be practice positive and healthy self-care.

CCBHC Mobile Crisis Worker Per-Diem/On-Call

Community Care Alliance is looking for a per-diem staff to work in a new cutting edge program responding to crisis in the surrounding community. In this position you would have the opportunity to be working with an innovative team including, the program director, law enforcement and first responders, clinicians, case managers, peer specialists and community mental health workers. This type of community based crisis triage is the new frontier of responding to mental health and substance use crises. This rapid response team would be an elite team of individuals working collaboratively with the intent to manage a crisis in the community, provide rapid resources for stabilization and to develop community connections with the intent to decrease the need for an emergency room intervention and an inpatient admission.

Flexible schedule, days, may include evenings and some weekend coverage.

This is a 24/7 program. As such, shifts will be offered for multiple days and times. Certain shifts will be based in our Woonsocket location, with mobile outreach: rate of pay highly competitive and is commensurate to skills and experience.

Overnight shifts are on-call: these will be paid at a flat hourly rate of $8/hour for time spent remote, plus a fee of $75-100 per community-based assessment based on credentials. Per Diem applicants should be available for at least 2 shifts per month.

This schedule is desirable for professionals looking for supplementary income.

Clinical Supervisor / Wraparound Coach is to oversee day-to-day operations regarding the service, personnel, data/reporting and accreditation components of the Family Care Community Partnership.

This position provides leadership in implementing high standards of family centered, strengths-based practice and is consistent with the larger agency mission of strengthening vulnerable families and our community.

Clinical Supervisor provides direct, weekly supervision to direct service staff. This includes:

  • Responsibility for oversight of Care Coordination & services provided to families/clients.
  • Coaching and oversight of implementation of Wraparound practice and philosophy.
  • General performance, documentation, and adherence to agency and program standards and policies.
  • Visits all open client homes for diagnostic assessment.

Clinical Supervisor provides clinical consultation, crisis intervention, and general support to all staff and clientele. Clinical assessments and services are also be provided, as required by DCYF contractual obligations.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • A Master's Degreeand Independent Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts are required,
  • Experience in clinical practice and provision of supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team framework.
  • Openness to ongoing supervision, training, and personal and professional development.
  • Consistent enhancement of supervisory skills is required via supervisory training within and outside of CCA.

Position Summary:

The Clinical Training & Fidelity Specialist is responsible for delivering CCA’s core training and fidelity monitoring. This position will oversee all projects and activities related to evidence-based practice (EBP) fidelity adherence and staff training across the agency’s behavioral health programs that support CCA’s mission, values, and quality person-centered services. Responsibilities:

 Implement a fidelity plan that meets Accreditation, Licensing, SAMHSA Grant,  and RI-CCBHC certification standards.  Attend and coordinate with other internal and external workgroups and key leadership to select fidelity tools and make recommendations to improve adherence.  Coordinate the implementation of required EBP fidelity tools including development of workflows, data collection and entry, and completion tracking. Organize and lead committees responsible for the scoring of fidelity assessments.  Delegate tasks to address gaps, as needed.  Coordinate work with designated external vendors to coordinate, track, and produce summary data and reports to help inform fidelity evaluation and continuous quality improvement. Provide reports on fidelity adherence and implementation including progress, barriers, successes, and outcome data for CCA and DCOs.  Provide fidelity coaching, including guidance and support, to improve the quality of evidence-based services delivered and enhance staff professional growth and development.  Develop and implement workforce development strategies aligned with organizational goals.  Responsible for developing, coordinating, and/or providing training in core clinical practices such as Person-Centered Care, Trauma-Informed Care, Zero Suicide, Motivational Interviewing, and SBIRT. Update and enhance existing staff training curriculums.  Attend Train the Trainer sessions on core topics and EBPs as needed, staying updated on best practices and any changes in regulations related to workforce development and training.  Assist the Training Coordinator as needed in finding reputable and relevant training resources for staff.  Participate in quarterly Training Committee meetings. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Training Required:

Knowledge and experience in the management of behavioral health clinical services.  Knowledge of psychiatric disorders as defined by APA (DSM IV-TR).  Knowledge and familiarity with Rhode Island Mental Health Law. Knowledge of risk assessment instruments and mental status examination.  Knowledge of laws related to rights, confidentiality, and abuse.  Knowledge and skill in crisis intervention techniques.  Skill in overseeing required data collection, analysis, aggregation, and use of performance improvement methodologies.  Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills are essential for success in this position.  Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments  MS Office proficiency

Education and Experience: 

A master’s degree in a clinical discipline is required. Clinical Licensure in the state of Rhode Island (e.g., LCSW, RN) is preferred.  Minimum of Five (5) years of clinical experience within a behavioral health facility or other related healthcare setting.  Previous teaching/training experience preferred  Must demonstrate competencies and experience with adult and children’s evidence-based practices for serious emotional disorders, and adults with serious mental illness, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.

Community Care Alliance is looking for per-diem master’s level clinicians or RN’s / QMHP certification preferred, to work in its new program called the Co-Responder Program. The Co-Responder Program pairs law enforcement and behavioral health clinicians to intervene and respond to behavioral health-related calls for police service. These teams utilize the combined expertise of the officer and the behavioral health clinician to de-escalate situations and help link individuals with behavioral health issues to appropriate services. Additionally, Co-Responders will conduct outreach and follow- up calls to individuals who have had police contact as a result of their behavioral health crisis. The Co-Responder clinician will be located at one of our local Police Departments in the Northern Rhode Island area.

Duties include mobile community crisis assessments and intervention in collaboration with local police departments and BH Link along with other mental health resources in the community; evaluation, disposition, and referral for all assessments; perform emergency certifications when necessary.

This position has flexible hours with availability seven days a week. Weekday hours are in the evening/ Saturday and Sunday hours are flexible.

Must have excellent crisis intervention skills and a minimum of 1 year employment in community mental health, CSU, or an inpatient psychiatric setting. Ability to diagnose using DSM 5 criteria. Employee must have valid driver’s license.

Conducts the Healthy Families America family assessment with families to determine eligibility for home visitation services. The Family Support Center offers an array of services to meet people’s basic needs:  food, rent, utilities, clothing, and more.  Work with a Team who are customer-focused.  Every person who comes in is evaluated for other needs, either those offered by the Center or another agency program.  We also look beyond the person in front of us to consider the needs of the entire household.   Excellent phone skills are a must! You are perfect for this team if you are a positive person with good verbal and written communication skills.  Must be an effective problem-solver. 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides customer service to customers seeking basic needs assistance. Provides support staff services to all program services in the Family Support Center including data entry, record keeping, file maintenance, inventory, and written documentation.

Duties:

  • Greets and assists customers with submitting program application materials.
  • Enters completed intake/screening and program application forms into required database(s) per program and agency guidelines.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for differences in language, culture, socioeconomic status, gender identity, and individuality pertaining to clientele and colleagues.
  • Use judgment and discretion in setting daily priorities. Complete tasks, maintain punctuality, keep appointments, and adapt schedule to meet unexpected needs and changes. Demonstrate ability to be independent and self-directive.
  • Demonstrate appropriate professional boundaries with clientele, according to agency guidelines, program protocol, and best practice.
  • Engage in respectful and positive interactions with colleagues at all times. Demonstrate the ability to communicate with people of diverse backgrounds; work collaboratively with colleagues to accomplish objectives; handle conflict and resolve issues.
  • Understand confidentiality regulations and maintain confidentiality of family and agency information. Demonstrate adherence to agency ethical standards.
  • Maintains client files in accordance with Agency quality assurance policies.
  • Assists with program inventory and ordering.
  • Complete all documentation/reporting in accordance with practice standards and timelines, as required by the agency, funding source, contract, and/or regulatory body.
  • Actively participate in supervision, program, and agency meetings.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalency with two years of office/customer service experience preferred. Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred.

Minimum skills will include:

  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of proper business communication, including style and format of letters, memoranda, minutes, and reports.
  • Skill to use a computer and various software packages.
  • Skill to type 50 words per minute.

Join a committed team of professionals!

FCCP works with families who have at least one child with behavior issues or diagnosis, where the family is not sure how to get help. Other families are eligible if they are at-risk for involvement with DCYF. All families are in need of assistance in navigating services or community resources that may be available to help their family, utilizing family and natural supports where possible to overcome barriers. The goal of FCCP is to strengthen families to become more self-sufficient.

The Family Support Partner is a peer mentor who supports families in the home and in the community. FSPs work as part of the FCCP team which is a home visiting model using the Wraparound practice model emphasizing family voice and choice and increasing natural supports. Must have / had experience such as personal experience resolving family violence or drug addiction or successfully raising a child with serious emotional disturbance (SED) or a developmental disability (DD) and /or who has been involved with child welfare system or juvenile corrections. The family Support Partner will draw upon their personal experience of advocating with systems to assist parents and to utilize their team to make progress for their children.

Services will be based in the office, home and community. Primary duties include: partnering with families and supporting the FCCP Family Service Care Coordinator to meet the needs of the family, identifying and addressing emergency or urgent needs, providing direct support services to families by linking them to services, informal supports, and parent advocacy organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent engagement skills with diverse clients
  • Able to complete assessments and documentation electronically.
  • Able to provide own reliable transportation to travel throughout Northern Rhode Island region
  • High School diploma for equivalent.
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged.
  • Background and DCYF Background checks
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the human service field and home visiting experience preferred

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in filling out paperwork, as needed.

The Serenity Center is a peer-run recovery community center supporting individuals in all stages of recovery from substance use and often, co-occurring mental health challenges. We are "people first" and operate from a trauma-informed perspective. We are invested in Harm Reduction. Our goal is to keep people alive to support them to access basic needs and connect with shelter or permanent housing as speedily as possible.

We are looking for a clinician who has a community-based orientation. This is not traditional office-based counseling. You are a good fit for this team if you:

  • Have genuine positive regard for all people and are comfortable working with people who are homeless, unstably housed, and who may be actively using substances.
  • Embrace Medication Assisted Treatment and know how to educate clients about this option. You should be familiar with the recovery resources and treatment options. In addition to having the ability to establish rapport with a wide variety of people, you must be comfortable navigating an electronic health record.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work both independently and in a Team. Will need to dress casually and wear comfortable shoes.
  • Are willing to meet with clients in the community, including encampments, and/or homes. Excellent boundaries are critical.

An Ideal candidate will:

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment.
  • Complete an individualized person-centered recovery plan and update every 6 months.
  • Deliver services using evidence-based practices: CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Zero Suicide, and others.
  • Engage clients in individual and group psychotherapy.
  • Serve as a consultant to the Serenity team to enhance understanding of co-occurring disorders.
  • Coordinate with emergency services or BH Link when clients are in crisis.
  • Assist clients to access higher levels of care including: Detox, residential treatment, Intensive Outpatient Program, Partial Hospital Program, etc.
  • Meet with clients in the setting that is most appropriate to address their needs, either within the Serenity Center or in the community.
  • Coordinate care with other CCA programs and/or other community providers in accordance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.

Education/License Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology or anyhuman servicesrelated field preferred.
  • Licensed or Independently Licensed - LCSW/LICSW/LMHC.

The lead nurse will drive the core and essential nursing processes that ensure quality treatment and work experiences.

Responsibilities, as listed below, will be specific to the nursing team and will be completed in collaboration with the unit's director, deputy director, and lead behavioral health worker. These responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and/or drafting policies and procedures
  • Providing 1:1 and group supervision, training, and in-service
  • Meeting regularly with the unit's psychiatric and medical prescribers to review cases and unit processes and practices
  • Ensuring systems are organized, clear, and efficient and promote best possible outcomes for staff and clients alike

The counselor will be expected to provide assessment, diagnosis, relapse prevention skills, psychoeducation and referrals to higher levels of care through use of Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy treatment modalities.

In addition to individual therapy, the counselor will be responsible for: completing session notes within 48 hours of service, completing treatment plans every 6 months, providing crisis management and referring clients to various community resources that will further help them improve their quality of life.

The ideal candidate has previous experience working/interning in the fields of mental health and/or addiction, is able to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team as well as work autonomously and has a sincere desire to help the people we serve.

Peer Recovery Specialists IHH  (Full Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide a bridge between providers and adults with serious mental illness. Peer Specialists will assist in facilitating the care and well-being of adults receiving services while working on a multidisciplinary team. Peer Recovery Specialists have lived experience with behavioral health issues and/or addiction, possess the ability to work and communicate effectively, and have an outgoing and engaging personality to connect with individuals. The position requires one to share lived experience of mental illness and/or addiction (when appropriate), serve as a role model for peers, and share self-help techniques and effective coping strategies. EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

AHigh School diploma or equivalent. Have successfully completed and passed a Co-occurring Peer Specialist training program endorsed by BHDDH and possess (or be scheduled for next training) IC/RC state certification (CPRS). In addition, have maintained, within the last three (3) years, at least 12 months of successful full or part time paid or voluntary work experience (not necessarily consecutive) or one-year post-secondary education experience totaling 24 credit hours.   • Direct the day-to-day operations of the ICTT team. This includes coordinating treatment, rehabilitation, and support services in collaboration with the team to prevent crisis situations that may lead to psychiatric hospitalizations.
  • Perform crisis intervention, staff supervision and consultation and utilize safe crisis management techniques during normal business hours.
  • Review assessments and recovery plans for appropriate clinical content and oversee management of EHR records ensure compliance with various policies and requirements.
  • Ensure monthly density requirements are met for billing purposes.

Program Supervisor  (Full Time)

Program Supervisor (Full time)

Position Summary:

This position is based in a drop-in center for youth ages 14-24 from diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are in need of a dynamic individual that is passionate about working with this age group and hard to serve individuals. The Program Manager works closely with the Director, staff and clients to ensure the smooth operation of all HYC programming through a trauma-informed lens.

The clinical side of the position is milieu and training based, meaning billable hours and appointments are not applicable. This allows for the clinician to spend the time needed to support our clients, support staff by conducting crisis intervention and de-escalation when needed, and to ensure that the staff is always current on their training to best support our youth.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Programming Operations Support:  Become familiar with all program funding contracts and their expected outcomes, ensure that all outcome reports and databases are being managed correctly by appropriate staff. Oversee all youth center operations alongside the Director. Delegate tasks to staff and support staff where and when needed to ensure that contract expectations and outcomes are met and appropriately documented. Oversee the daily operations of the HYC including services, programs, workforce development programs, funder’s needs and clinical supports of both staff and youth. Distribute requested information to other staff as appropriate and follow-up as needed to ensure responses are completed accurately and on-time.
  • Networking and Collaboration: Become familiar and develop partnerships with organizations throughout the state, specifically in the Woonsocket and Northern RI region. Serve on committees and/or partnerships that are in the best interest of the HYC per Director. Outreach to potential partners/collaborations throughout the state that may benefit the population we serve, especially employer partners, mental health resources and potential funding opportunities. Work closely with Director to identify and pursue a diversified approach to funding to fiscally stabilize programs.
  • Provide Clinical Case Management, Supervision and Project Management: Work individually with youth on any barriers that they might present. Connect them with resources or services that may assist in meeting a youth (and their family’s) current needs. Support and guide staff when needed to ensure that every interaction with youth is purposeful, supportive and trauma informed. Provide support to youth on a continuous basis that may help in the areas of self-esteem building, harm-reduction, communication, etc. Be able to connect youth with further mental health resources when appropriate. Complete projects and /or potential funding opportunities as assigned that may require extensive research, analysis and writing. Delegate assignments and tasks to support staff as appropriate. Manage staff performance, provide guidance and training, write and conduct performance appraisals. Assist Director and/or Manager with bi-weekly staff supervisions and weekly team meetings including creation of appropriate agendas and performance plans.
  • Crisis Intervention and De-escalation:  Support Director and staff to intervene in any crisis situations that may arise with youth. Be able to assess youth to safety and connect youth with appropriate emergency services depending on the severity of the situation and youth’s mental well-being. Communicate with any internal or external mental health providers in which a youth may currently be receiving services. Continue to train and support staff in their journey to be as trauma informed and holistic as possible in offering wrap around services to youth clients.

Education and Experience:

Supervisory experience preferred. Effective delegation skills and ability to coordinate the work of others.

POSITION SUMMARY:

JOB DUTIES/EXPECTATIONS:

  • Administer injections to individuals on psychotropic medications.
  • Coordinate with various pharmacies and Drs to ensure medication is ordered, filled and dispensed appropriately.
  • Engage individuals who are medically compromised to assist in coordination with medical providers and advocate for referrals to specialists or increased services (ie: such as CNA/HHA).
  • Meet with individuals, including parents of identified children, to provide psychoeducation on new and/or existing medical diagnosis(s).
  • Manage hospital alert system and coordinate with hospitals/inpatient facilities regarding any inpatient medical admissions for medically compromised clients.
  • Engage individuals in check-ins post medical hospitalization.
  • Assist high risk/medically compromised clients to medical appointments with specialists.
  • Complete nursing assessments with medically compromised individuals.
  • Facilitate various therapeutic and health focused groups.
  • Review medical screening form for children's behavioral health clients.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors degree in nursing.
  • An associate's degree in nursing with, at least, one year of experience working with individuals who have complex medical needs.
  • At least one year of experience working with children, youth and families, who have mental health, substance use or co-occurring disorders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Ensure general safety and structure of the shelter by monitoring resident activities as they pertain to shelter rules and policies.

The substance use residential nurse will provide consultation and direct support to two 16-bed programs: Wilson House (Pawtucket) and Jellison House (Johnston). Each of these sites offers trauma-informed, person-centered, and evidence-based substance use disorder treatment for up to 90 days. We promote recovery in safe, home-like environments with an emphasis on building strong treatment communities. The RN is an integral member of an interdisciplinary team that together offers counseling, psychoeducational groups, holistic and mindfulness-based stress reduction, life skills, medication management, care coordination, family support, and more. 

Specifically, the RN will deliver quality care by:

  • Assessing and monitoring clients for behavioral health or medical symptoms in collaboration with the clinical team.
  • Reconciling and documenting medication regiments following admissions or medication changes.
  • Providing support and education for clients and staff on the impact of substance use and co-occurring disorders on health and wellness.
  • Collaborating with referral sources, external providers, and other agency departments as indicated.
  • Assisting in safety planning and crisis assessment and support when needed.

The Northern Rhode Island Visitation Center serves families whose children are to have supervised visits in a home-like setting while receiving support in their recovery. The Transportation Specialist provides transportation to and from supervised visits with biological families for children in out-of-home placements. Your role will also include: identifying and building upon individuals' strengths, identifying and addressing individuals' barriers/challenges to employment/education, assisting individuals with developing and working on recovery plan goals, participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, and collaborating care with employers, educators, family members, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and other multidisciplinary team members to support individuals in attaining their goals.

This position is looking for an individual who can work independently, but also as a team player! Candidate should also demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong computer skills, knowledge of relevant ethical guidelines in behavioral health practice, and a willingness to engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices/evidence-based practices. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated co-occurring clinical coordinator. This individual will be working closely with youth ages 12-25 and their families and will be coordinating with community partners to increase access to services available for adolescents. The goal of this program is to screen, assess, and coordinate care for youth at risk for substance use disorders and who are currently experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions.

Job Duties:

  • Actively engage clients and family members in the therapeutic process utilizing a variety of strategies at the youth center and in community settings.
  • Provide individual counseling utilizing a variety of interventions e.g. motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and stages of change to address youth and family needs.
  • Assist in the development of therapeutic groups for youth and family members that promote health and wellness including mental health, self-esteem building, co-occurring conditions, and substance use.
  • Participate in marketing and promotional events to promote the program, increase enrollment, and provide education related to substance use and recovery.
  • Provide training to staff as needed around therapeutic interventions and trauma informed care.
  • Provide care coordination between providers in various settings to improve youth and family participation and engagement.
  • Assess clients on an ongoing basis, provide support services and crisis intervention as needed.
