STARTING RATE (Current): $20.00 / hour POSITION RANGE (Current): $20.00 $21.00 / hour
STARTING RATE (Effective 7/1/25): $20.50 / hour POSITION RANGE (Effective 7/1/25): $20.50 $22.25 / hour
POSITION OVERVIEW & REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking multiple seasonal workers to perform a variety of duties in two locations: Parks Maintenance Division and the Shennecossett Golf Course. Primary responsibilities would include string trimming, special event set-up and breakdown, raking, divot repairs, trash pick-up, and brush cutting. Position(s) may perform miscellaneous carpentry, painting, spray painting, line & sign painting, less skilled grounds maintenance and masonry work. Position requires driving a variety of vehicles including trucks, carts, and bunker machines. Use of power equipment such as leaf blowers and push mowers is required. Experience in maintenance, landscaping, and groundskeeping preferred but not required. Ability to use or learn to use manual tools, power tools, and equipment. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License required.
