Quality Initiative Scheduler  (Full Time)

SOUTHCOAST HEALTH IS LOOKING FOR A FULL-TIME quality initiative scheduler FOR OUR Administration LOCATION

This position is responsible for making and scheduling patient appointments in an efficient and timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Ability to exercise professionalism in dealing with all levels of personnel, patients and patients' families.
  
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Skilled in operating a computer.
• Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette and customer service concepts.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
  

Responsibilities:

• Books, coordinates, and reschedule patient appointments. Relays necessary messaged to staff.
  
• Schedules new and existing patients with provider. If an interpreter or translation service is needed, arrangements will be made and documented.
• Ensures that updates are input daily into master schedule and provider/nurse is notified.
• Maintains and updates current information on physicians' schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Reports to work on a regular and consistent basis.

Education/ Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. One year experience preferable in a medical office setting. Prefer prior switchboard operations experience. Knowledge of medical terminology desired. Word processing and computer experience.
