Insurance Precertification Clerk (Full Time) Location: Wichita, KS: West Office (Main Office)
Orthopaedic practice seeking candidates to handle insurance precertification/verification process for surgeries and procedures:
Job Duties:
- Pre-certify procedure with appropriate insurance company or guarantor and verify benefit information.
- Initiate pre-determination related to insurances that require it for specific procedures.
- Notify physician or patient of any problems regarding precertification.
- Work patient balance report and initiate collection on delinquent accounts.
- Scan Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) into the practice management system.
- Punctual attendance at all facility inservices, departmental meetings and scheduled shifts.
- Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the organization.
- Personally adhere to the standards, rules, and procedures of the KOC Compliance and HIPAA Programs and contribute to ensuring the organizational commitment to compliance and HIPAA regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- One - two years insurance experience and knowledge of insurance claim process
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Demonstrates the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to prioritize, work independently, and communicate (orally and written) effectively
- Demonstrates a professional demeanor and good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with other staff and outside contacts
- Proficiency with Windows based applications
