Admitting Receptionist  (Full Time)
Location: Wichita, KS: West Office (Main Office)

This position will greet and admit patients to Surgery Center of Kansas, the surgery center for our orthopaedic practice.

POSITION SCHEDULE: Full-time 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday with ability to work a flexible schedule preferred. 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Verify pre-certification of procedure and coordinate admission of patient to surgery center.
  2. Perform reception and clerical duties and assist with scheduling functions.
  3. Obtains, assembles and stores medical record for each patient and assigns chart number.
  4. Processes requests for release of patient information.
  5. Perform medical record audits for presence of required documents.
  6. Maintains compliance with OSHA standards for healthcare facilities.
  7. Punctual attendance at departmental staff meetings, facility inservices, and all scheduled shifts.
  8. Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the center.
  9. Personally adhere to the standards, rules, and procedures of the KOC Compliance and HIPAA Programs and contribute to ensuring the organizational commitment to compliance and HIPAA regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology
  • 2 years reception experience preferred, medical office experience a plus
  • Proficiency with Windows based applications, including word-processing and spreadsheet programs
  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain poise and tact
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Clerical skills: filing, multi-line phones, transferring calls, operating basic office equipment, greeting visitors, etc.
