Hours:40 hours per week.Clinic hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; Wednesday, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Pay Rate: $33.34 to $35.10 per hour (updated)

Education:Masters degree in a mental health-related field, such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling required

Licensure:License-eligible or registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) required

As a Clinician SBCM (Strength-Based Case Management), you will:

  • Work closely with various providers in the region or system to facilitate access to program services for those identified as the target population to be served. Primarily field-based position.
  • Conduct initial and annual behavioral health assessment of new clients and/or returning clients.
  • Perform collateral interviews as indicated.
  • Provide individual and group psychosocial behavioral health services, case management/brokerage, and crisis interventionas needed.
  • In a client crisis situation, conduct risk assessment, call and meet with emergency responders to provide them with pertinent information and handle all necessary paperwork (Tarasoff paperwork requirements, incident report requirements, etc).
  • Assist the client in developing client service plan goals, prioritizing areas of need, and steps needed to reach goals established, as well as identified areas of strength. Continually monitors progress towards goals and supports clients efforts toward self-sufficiency.
  • Assist clients with discharge planning and/or care coordination as needed in order to access on-going medical care, community-based resources, and other support services.
  • Monitor and respond to Morning Reports and coordinate 48-hour discharge response from inpatient facilities/crisis residential facilities.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Two years of work experience with adults with serious mental illness
  • CPR/First Aid certification required and must be maintained throughout employment
  • Demonstrates knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery-oriented evidence-based and best practices
  • High level of ability to screen, triage and assess for risk and safety factors
  • High level of ability to accurately diagnose using the DSM criteria
  • High level of ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure
  • Those with experience in a walk-in outpatient-based mental health program encouraged to apply
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required for this position
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • A valid California drivers license in good standing and eligibility to be an approved CRF driver is required to fulfill the essential functions of this position. In addition, proof of insurance is required prior to driving personal vehicles on company business.
  • Able to pass criminal/background clearance

Maria Sardinas Wellness & Recovery Centeris one of our Adult Outpatient programs (AOP) which provide behavioral health services including psychiatric and clinical assessment, treatment planning, ongoing medication services, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, mobile outreach, vocational support, and peer support. We deliver fully integrated services to adult clients diagnosed with a serious mental illness, as well as individuals with co-occurring, mental health, and substance use disorders.

All of our outpatient programs also provide full-time walk-in services. Our programs utilize evidence-based practices to assist our clients in reaching their goals and to live the highest quality of life while managing their mental illness.
