Clinician II - Assessment  (Regular Full-Time, Hourly)

Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Pay Rate: $44.00 to $52.90 per hour

Education: Master's degree in a mental health-related field, such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling required

Licensure:  Licensed in California with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or Waivered Psychologist required

As a Clinician II - Assessment, you will:

  • Conduct screenings for walk-in clients to determine eligibility for services
  • Conduct Behavioral Health Assessments using concurrent documentation standards
  • Determine diagnosis and/or a change in diagnosis from current diagnosis from DSM, if assigned.
  • Develop Safety Plans and Aftercare Plans depending on clients’ needs
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Provide care coordination, outreach, case management, and skills building services as needed.
  • Complete discharge summaries.
  • Collaboration with clinical tm, nurse, and prescribers.
  • Complete peer reviews and other internal monitoring/tracking tasks as assigned.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • High level of ability to accurately diagnose using the DSM criteria
  • High level of ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure
  • Those with experience in a walk-in outpatient-based mental health program encouraged to apply
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
  • Reliable transportation is required to fulfill the essential functions of this position. A valid California driver’s license in good standing and proof of insurance are required for employees driving personal vehicles on company business.
  • Able to pass criminal/background clearance

The Adult Outpatient programs (AOP) provide behavioral health services including psychiatric and clinical assessment, treatment planning, ongoing medication services, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, mobile outreach, vocational support, and peer support. We deliver fully integrated services to adult clients diagnosed with a serious mental illness, as well as individuals with co-occurring, mental health, and substance use disorders.

Jane Westin Center is a full-time urgent psychiatric walk-in center that provides screening, triage, clinical and psychiatric assessment, medication support, and discharge planning. 

All of our outpatient programs also provide full-time walk-in services.  Our programs utilize evidence-based practices to assist our clients in reaching their goals and to live the highest quality of life while managing their mental illness.
