The pay for this position is $17.00-20.00/hour. Additionally, employees receive a $2.50 shift differential for hours worked Friday evening through Monday morning.

+ Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • No experience necessary! As long as you have a heart and the ability to show compassion, we will train you upon hire
  • Any certifications necessary for the job will be paid for and coordinated through Benedictine


+ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and appropriate behavior management to assigned individuals
  • Participate in recreation/leisure activities with the people we support. Engage with individuals throughout your shift
  • Teach and assist the individuals in personal hygiene and daily living skills. This may include assisting with toileting, bathing and feeding
  • Teach and assist individuals based on their personal goals and objectives
  • Record and maintain individual logs (for activities and behaviors), progress notes and all other documentation as required
  • May administer medical and first aid, or assist with transportation


+ Working Conditions

Hours of work

  • Full or part time
  • Day, evening, weekend or overnight hours
  • Short (2-5 hour) or long (12-16 hour) shifts
  • Weekend DSP- Our weekend DSP' start between $21.50 - $25.50/Hour(depending on the location) this includes a $2.50 shift differential for working shifts Friday evening through Monday morning.
    • Work 26 hours every weekend get paid for 35 hours and get all of our full time benefits listed above including paid time off!

Overtime expectations

  • Overtime is not required but is regularly available and much appreciated. Any employee can request extra hours, regardless of seniority

Work environment

  • Group home, community, classroom, or dorm/suite setting

Travel requirements

  • We have some DSP roles that require driving and some that do not. The frequency depends on the department and person being supported. We have some Benedictine vehicles to use for this purpose but some staff may chose to use their personally owned vehicle (POV). When using POV, an extra 50 cents is applied to the base pay rate and we pay for mileage reimbursement.

On-call responsibilities

  • Not required for this position.
