+ Education and Experience
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred
Must have a current Registered Nurse license through the State of Maryland.
Must be in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing.
Must have a minimum of six (6) years of nursing experience and previous experience working with pediatrics, special needs, or mental health population preferred.
Prior supervisory experience highly preferred.
Must be a minimum of 21 years old
+ Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day operational function of the school nursing team and department to meet all student needs and services in accordance with all federal, state, and local practice standards and regulations for a school and residential setting. Assure services are provided are in compliance with school policies.
Facilitate effective communication to all departments, external agencies, providers, and student families.
Ensure all documentation required is current and available in the school and group home environment.
Develop and modify as needed policies, protocols and guidelines. Review all at least annually.
Support the use of psychiatric consultation service by providing staff nurse coordination of scheduling, participation, and team attendance. Ensure parent participation, and the dissemination of information where needed, including maintenance of each student's medical record and external agency requirements.
Keep lines of communication open with parents/guardians, external agencies pharmacy services, and insurance companies on student nursing related needs.
Provide Delegating Nursing support for all CMT's on campus and in group home setting.
Ongoing education and training to meet certification standards
Documentation and review of medication error
Initial assessment and 45-day reviews as well as yearly goals of care for all students who require such (i.e. group home students)
Develop nursing care plans and individualized emergency protocols for students as needed
Provide "on-call" support to Infirmary designee when nurse is not scheduled. This includes availability for phone calls and to be on-site if needed.
Assess and deliver first aid for staff who present with work-related injury or acute illness.

Full time, 40 hours per week
Day shift, Monday - Friday; 8am-4pm (with some weekend hours)
