This is a FT position

Position Summary:

The Behavioral Health APP will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and medication management services at NRH clinics. Work in conjunction with primary care providers and the local mental health community to provide high quality integrated behavioral health.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for providing behavioral health services to patients in a clinical setting.
  • Scope of services includes inpatient and outpatient behavioral health evaluations, follow up care and medication management.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat adults, adolescents, and children experiencing symptoms of a behavioral health disorder
  • Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders
  • Collaborate with providers, social workers, or other treatment team members to coordinate patient care
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of medical records, including assessment, treatment plan, progress notes, and outcome measures
  • Examine or order laboratory or diagnostic tests for patients to provide information on general physical condition and mental disorders
  • Provide teaching and education to clinical staff as neededSkills & Abilities
  • Master's Degree Required, Field of study Behavioral Health, Graduation from a state-certified advance practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health
  • Experience of at least 1-2 years providing direct patient care for persons receiving treatment for behavioral health disorders
  • Must be certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH)
  • An unrestricted license to practice in the state of Kansas
  • Must have a valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license in Kansas
