AP SPECIALIST (PART TIME)  (Part Time)

STARTING WAGE $ 21.95 PER HOUR

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Processes and monitors accounts payable, provides expenditure reports and information to all departments when requested, assists with monthly financial statement preparation.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Matches vendor invoices to purchase orders and receiving reports.

 

Verifies accuracy of quantities invoiced, ordered and received.

 

Confirms pricing and clerical accuracy of invoice, notifying Purchasing Agent of any discrepancies.

 

Generates monthly detailed accounts payable aging reports and vendor reports.

 

Data entry of financial information as directed by Accounting Manager.

 

Maintains the vendor master file on both unpaid and paid invoices.

 

Prepares invoices for services paid and codes to the appropriate operation.

 

Prepares checks for approval, signatures and mailing.

 

Generates pre-check payment selection reports for approval by the Director of Finance and/or Accounting Manager.

 

Advises Accounting Manager of all technical difficulties with vendor supplied documentation (i.e. duplicate invoices, description of items inadequate to classify expense or department to which it should be charged, requirements for split payments if only part of the invoiced items have been received, etc.).

 

Receives all invoices for items payable by the Casino and enters them into the computerized accounts payable system.

 

Performs other general office and accounting duties as directed by the Finance Director or Accounting Manager.

 

Adheres to all personnel and department policies and procedures.

 

Abides by Casino’s confidentiality policies.

 

Other work-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED with general knowledge of accounting functions and computer data entry and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
