Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Automation Technician to join our team and take charge of maintaining and repairing the automated machinery and equipment in our warehouse facility. In this vital role, you will ensure that our systems operate efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of automated systems, including conveyors, sorting machines, robotic arms, and other equipment, to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software malfunctions in automation equipment using diagnostic tools, schematics, and manuals.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, or component replacements to restore functionality and optimize the performance of automated systems.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to proactively address wear and tear, extending the lifespan of equipment and minimizing unexpected failures.
- Maintain detailed maintenance activity records, tracked equipment history, and facilitated future maintenance efforts.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors, operations managers, and team members to prioritize maintenance tasks and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains, working with engineering and technology teams to implement enhancements and upgrades.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures, equipment isolation, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing automated machinery and equipment, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues in automation systems.
- Strong understanding of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), sensors, actuators, and other automation components.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices, including lubrication, calibration, and inspection routines.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to guide maintenance activities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and a proactive maintenance approach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in maintenance operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or vocational training in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Compensation: Based on experience.
