We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist (PRN) for our Inpatient Therapy Department. In this role, you will assume responsibility in the daily activities of therapy services. This includes the potential for evaluating and developing treatment plans for outpatients. A staff therapist administers occupational therapy treatment to patients as defined in the Kansas Occupational Therapy Practice Act; as well as, has the responsibility for the overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of professional and supportive staff and students in their area of rehabilitation services.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience:

  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and/or be state licensed.
  • Preferably a minimum of two (2) years' experience

Knowledge, skills, & abilities:

  • Must know principles and practice of Occupational Therapy; be familiar with the American Occupational Therapy Associate Code of Ethics; be familiar with department/organization policies, procedures, regulations, and layout; be aware of inter and intra department/organization communications; be able to apply supervision and management techniques.
  • Must be able to apply the theory of Occupational Therapy; have the ability and competency to operate the equipment of his or her position; be able to perform technical procedures; be able to speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others; demonstrate supervision and management skills

Licensure, registration and certification:

  • Must have State Licensure. Licensure must be obtained as per state law.
  • Must have, or immediately obtain BLS certification. Must maintain BLS certification.
