We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for our Laboratory Department. In this role, you will demonstrate technical skills and experience sufficient to perform clinical laboratory specimen collection, evaluation, testing and result verification and reporting for the broad spectrum of generalist disciplines; including immunohematology, hematology, chemistry, immunology, special chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation and microbiology. The Laboratory Testing Professional exhibits organizational skills in prioritizing workload and task urgency based on specific clinical knowledge to report test results in a timely manner and practices quality management skills to assure reported results are accurate and reliable. In addition, the Laboratory Testing Professional accepts written and verbal orders for laboratory testing, applies corporate compliance measures, fulfills acceptable orders, and engages in continual learning to advance individual and team technical knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a biological or chemical science, or Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technology/Science Degree
• Two years of experience in a high complexity laboratory
  
  

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Has desire to obtain skills in limited aspects of laboratory operations
• Possess basic computer operation skills
• Experience with department specific information systems is desirable
• Demonstrates oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrates ability to identify problems and initiate actions for corrections 
• Demonstrates ability to identify problems and initiate actions for correction

Licensure and certifications:

• Certification as MT, MLS, or MLT is required. Certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologist is preferred.
