A staff Physical Therapist assumes responsibility in the daily activities of therapy services. This includes the potential for evaluating and developing treatment plans for inpatients, skilled swing bed, IRU, and outpatients. A staff therapist administers physical therapy treatment to patients as defined in the Kansas Physical Therapy Practice Act. A staff therapist has the responsibility for the overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of professional and supportive staff and students in their area of rehabilitation services. In addition, the staff therapist is involved in documenting as necessary and appropriate, while also assisting with, or actively participating in, ACHS and safety procedures for the department/organization.
This position is hourly (non-exempt and reports to the Inpatient Therapy Supervisor/Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Knowledge & Skills:
· Must know principles and practice of Physical Therapy; be familiar with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics; be familiar with department/organization policies, procedures and regulations; be aware of inter-department/organization communications; be able to apply supervision and management techniques
· Must be able to apply the theory of physical therapy; have the ability and competency to operate equipment of their position; be able to perform technical procedures; be able to speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others; demonstrate supervision and management skills.
