We are currently seeking anAccountantfor ourAccountingdepartment.In this role, you will be working under the direction of the Director of Finance, and be responsible for reporting the Hospital's specific data collection requests (DSH-UCC, cost report, etc.), assisting with GL monthly close (journal entries, reporting), annual audit and budget preparation. This position provides important support to the accounting and finance processes, and completes a variety of financial analysis projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge & Skills

• Monthly general ledger closing, including adjusting entries and account reconciliation
• Process fixed assets and capital equipment
• Provide general ledger information to managers
• Analyze expense variances
• Maintain checking account balances
• Reconcile all hospital checking accounts
• External reporting: Medicare Cost Reports, DSH Survey, etc.
• Aids in annual budget preparation
• Assist external auditors
• Other duties as assigned by CFO or Director of Finance

Education and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or Bachelor's degree in Business
  
  • At least two years prior accounting experience
• Competence with spreadsheet software
• Familiarity with word processing and other computer applications
• Hospital accounting/analysis experience is a plus
