An inpatient staff Physical Therapist Assistant willl participate in the daily activities of rehabilitation services. You will perform selected patient treatments under the general supervision of a staff Physical Therapist. This includes, but is not necessarily all-inclusive, working with patients in the acute and inpatient rehab settings. A Physical Therapist Assistant administers physical therapy treatment to patients as defined in the Kansas Physical Therapy Practice Act. A Physical Therapist Assistant has the responsibility for the overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of PTA students utilized in the department/organization. The Physical Therapist Assistant prepares patients and equipment for treatment; may help perform the housekeeping duties of the department/organization; perform other diverse duties as requested or required. The Physical Therapist Assistant is involved in documenting as necessary and appropriate, while also assisting with, or actively participating in, HFAP and safety procedures for the department/NMC.

Education and Experience:
Knowledge & Skills:
· Must know principles and practice of Physical Therapy; be familiar with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics; be familiar with department/organization policies, procedures and regulations, and layout; be aware of inter-department/organization communications; be able to apply supervision and management techniques
· Must be able to apply the theory of physical therapy; have the ability and competency to operate equipment of their position; be able to perform technical procedures; be able to speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others; demonstrate supervision skills
