We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Family Medicine - Newton location. In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing essential nursing services in a busy practice while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Your duties will include but not limited to:
- Performs general nursing services of assigned physicians and/or departments
- Requires full access to Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Assists in multiple areas based on the needs of the clinic
- Rooming patients
- Patient care
- Phone triage
- Neuro-diagnostic testing

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with laboratory staff, nursing staff, providers and physicians.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
- Ability to carry out instructions of doctors.
- Ability to exhibit initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific orders.
- Ability to anticipate provider's needs.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions.
- Ability to follow written protocols.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures.
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- On the telephone and in face-to-face contact with patients she/he represents the doctors to these people, and by his/her personality, warmth and efficient helpful manner plays a vital role in the doctor's practice. By exhibiting a cooperative, helpful manager toward other clinic employees, the medical assistant can elicit cooperation and help from others when needed.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Registered LPN or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
- 1-2 years of clinic experience preferred
