Simulation Operations Technician  (Full Time)

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Under the direction of the Simulation Center Manager and the Director of Medical Simulation, the Simulation Operations Technician supports the daily operations of the Covenant Healthcare Simulation Center by providing technical assistance in setting up, operating, and maintaining simulation equipment. This role assists with simulation-based training for healthcare professionals and students, ensuring smooth operation during simulation activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Set up and operate medical simulation equipment, including anatomic models, task trainers, computer-based simulation, virtual reality, and high-fidelity human patient simulators.

Assist in the execution of simulation scenarios by controlling manikin actions, operating simulators in real-time, and troubleshooting issues during simulations.

Perform routine maintenance and calibration of simulation equipment. Troubleshoot technical problems and ensure equipment is functioning properly for training sessions.

Provide technical assistance, support and training to faculty, instructors and staff in the use of simulation equipment and simulators.

Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment and conduct routine inventory updates.

Record and manage data related to simulation activities. Maintains logs and inventories of simulation supplies and equipment.

Participate in technical training as necessary.

Assist with special projects or initiatives.

Assist with simulation activities including high fidelity scenario training, procedural task training, acting as a Standardized Patient or Embedded Simulation Person, and public relations activities.

Assist with other activities as assigned.

TRAVEL

No travel required for day-to-day duties of this position. This person may be asked to travel outside of the area or State for training specific to simulator maintenance and education. This person may at times be asked to assist in activities in the Simulation Center at CMU in Mt. Pleasant.
