GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the operations of all CMU Medical Education Partners (CMEP) clinical practices within his or her service line and any others operating within the physical space of his/her primary location noted above.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Functions Unique to Operations Manager - Family Medicine and Internal Medicine:
- Directly responsible for maintenance or improvement of the standard surgery clinics workflows and protocols, provider relations and the patient experience.
- Achieve and maintain status as a Patient Centered Medical Home.
- Ensures IM and FM physicians who require hospital credentialing and privileging complete necessary paperwork to obtain and maintain applicable hospital credentialing and privileging.
General Operations Manager Functions:
- In collaboration with administration and department physician leaders, is responsible for administrative oversight of CMEP clinical practices, including but not limited to management of each providers template and clinical schedule to comply with CARE models, reduce variation, maintaining minimal unfilled appointment slots, timely open encounter resolution, clinic cycle time, great patient experience, point of service collections, and more.
- In collaboration with the COO and Director of Operations, is responsible for clinic finances and budgets, expense reports (including payroll and timesheet approval) and periodic variance evaluation and justification.
- Use data to inform decision-making; collaborate with others to recommend and use dashboards or reports to enable data-driven management.
- Understands and supports quality, safety and performance improvement initiatives based on organization or clinic priorities.
- Hire, train, counsel, support, develop, evaluate and improve the performance of direct reports to current standards, expected behaviors, corporate values and policies.
- Adhere to leadership expectations and maintain semiannual performance evaluations on all direct reports.
- Approve and submit bi-weekly timesheets for physicians within department
- Evaluate and manage clinical equipment and other assets and recommend necessary expenditures to Operations Director.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Clinic and office environment, requiring computer usage (prolonged sitting, eye strain)
TRAVEL
Minimal travel between CMU clinic locations. Occasional conference travel.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree required. Bachelor degree preferred.
- Will consider extensive ambulatory/outpatient or other related equivalent experience, compensation will commensurate with education and/or experience.
- Demonstrating strong leadership experience - minimum two years experience as a healthcare manager (ambulatory setting preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills that encourage harmonious working relationships with individuals in the health and educational settings.
