REGULAR PART TIME - $21.50-25.50/HR - NOT LOCATION SPECIFIC
SHIFTS: COMPLETE OPEN AVAILABILITY - EVENINGS & WEEKENDS REQUIRED
POSITION SUMMARY
Your job as the Support Loss Prevention is responsible for preventing theft in a retail environment and maintaining the general safety of customers, employees, and the store.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides exceptional customer service and drives sales and profitability by ensuring a safe and secure store environment.
- Assist store management with approaching difficult situations and enforcing store rules in a peaceful manner. (e.g. disruptive customers, customers with non-approved animals, etc.)
- Defuse customer/employee disturbances. Call for outside assistance if necessary.
- Provide overall support for management, especially after 6PM. (e.g. help bring in items, pull down shades, etc.)
- Successfully identify shoplifters by following company guidelines.
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence.
- Observe activities and incidents and prepare daily logs and reports as required.
- Complete incident reports to document all Security/Loss Prevention related incidents.
- Maintain camera system and ensure all critical areas are monitored.
- Use camera system to review and save footage for investigations.
- Control access to the building, ensuring backdoors are locked after 5:00 PM each night.
- Allow access for maintenance and dairy crew to dispose of waste, store empty milk crates, cardboard bales,
- Assist with implementation of building security.
- Monitor public areas for potential safety threats.
- Help ensure the store is clear of customers at the end of the night.
- Check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances/exits, fire, mechanical problems and unauthorized persons.
- Ensure the protection and physical security and safety of employees and escort them to their vehicles, as needed.
- Immediately reports safety hazards and violations to supervisors.
- Works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 18+ years old.
- Proficient with CCTV/security camera systems.
- Basic computer skills.
- Competent in defusing high tension situations.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Capable of effectively prioritizing competing tasks in a fast paced, evolving environment.
- Ability to follow directions and established procedures with attention to detail.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Clear and effective communication style, both written and verbal.
- Team-player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic math skills.
- Conversational English skills required when working with customers.
- Bilingual proficiency preferred.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT - The list below outlines the expectations, requirements, and conditions of this position.
- Works with and around flour/grains, dairy, fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and/or other food allergens.
- Constantly lifts/carries 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- In a workday: frequent-to-constant standing/walking.
- Work requires the following motions: standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and reaching. Bending and twisting at waist and neck. Reaching above and below the shoulders.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Occasional-to-frequent exposure to extreme temperatures from work in and around freezers, coolers, refrigerators, ovens, stovetops, grills, barbeques, etc., inside and outside of the store in all weather conditions.
- Work in wet and dry conditions.
- May require use of ladders or step stools.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals (gas, fumes, chemicals).
- Work with and around tools and equipment, including but not limited to knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six-wheel carts, baler, etc.
- Intermittent noise from equipment and machinery.
- Wear non-slip, water and oil resistant closed-toe shoes.
